What to Expect During Visit at Envision Retina?
At Envision Retina, our goal is to provide you with a thorough evaluation of your vision and retinal health in a comfortable, patient-focused setting. A visit to our clinic is more detailed than a routine eye exam, as we specialize in conditions affecting the retina and macula. Here’s an overview of what you can expect:
Your eyesight is our priority. At Envision Retina, every step of your visit is designed to ensure you feel informed, supported, and confident in your care.
1. Welcome & Check-In
When you arrive, our front desk team will greet you and guide you through the check-in process. We’ll confirm your insurance details and update your medical and eye history.2. Initial Testing
Before you see the doctor, our staff will perform baseline tests to gather important information about your eyes. These may include:- Vision Testing – Measuring how clearly you see at different distances.
- Eye Pressure Measurement – A quick test to check for elevated intraocular pressure, which can signal glaucoma risk.
- Imaging & Retinal Scans – Depending on your condition, specialized imaging (such as OCT scans or fundus photographs) may be taken to provide detailed views of your retina.
- Dilation – Eye drops may be used to enlarge your pupils, allowing for a more complete evaluation of the back of your eye.
3. Meeting with Dr. Samara
You’ll then meet with Dr. Samara, who will review your medical history, discuss any vision concerns or symptoms, and explain the purpose of today’s visit. This is your opportunity to ask questions and share what’s most important to you.4. Comprehensive Retinal Examination
Dr. Samara will carefully examine the inside of your eyes using advanced equipment. This may include:- Slit-Lamp Examination – A microscope that allows a clear view of both the front and back structures of your eye.
- Dilated Retinal Exam – A detailed inspection of the retina, macula, and optic nerve.
- Specialized Retinal Tests – Performed if needed to better understand your condition.
5. Review & Discussion
After your exam, Dr. Samara will explain the findings in clear, straightforward terms. If a retinal condition is identified, he will discuss treatment options and answer any questions you may have.6. In-Office Treatments (If Needed)
Many retina conditions can be treated in our office the same day. Common procedures include laser treatments and injections.7. Planning Ahead
